Southern Alberta MX Tracks: Where the Dirt is Prime and the Competition is Fierce

Southern Alberta is home to some of the most thrilling motocross tracks in the province, offering everything from high-speed straights to technical sections that separate the pros from the pretenders. Whether you're a weekend warrior looking to tear up some loamy berms or a racer chasing podiums, these tracks have something for every throttle-hungry rider. Temple Hill (Raymond)

Temple Hill Motorcycle Park, managed by the Lethbridge Motorcycle Club, is located approximately 2 km north of Raymond, Alberta, at the intersection of Township Rd 64 and Range Rd 205. The main track spans roughly 2 km, featuring a mix of sand, hardpack, and significant natural elevation changes. Notable obstacles include a 100-foot triple step-up, the "tunnel" jump, and the uphill sand whoops known as "The Equalizer." The facility also offers a peewee track for smaller bikes and a turn track for early-season practice.
On June 9, 2024, Temple Hill hosted its inaugural event for the Canadian Triple Crown Series, attracting top motocross talent from across the nation.
 

Brooks MX Club (Brooks)

BMC is a family-friendly, non-profit club dedicated to growing the motocross scene in Southern Alberta. Their track offers a mix of technical sections and flowing terrain, perfect for all skill levels. The club hosts weekly practices, fun races, and unique events like night rides under the lights. Brooks' dry prairie climate and well-maintained soil provide excellent riding conditions for most of the season. BMC also welcomes ATV and UTV riders, making it a diverse motorsports hub.
 

Medicine Hat MX Society (Medicine Hat)

MHMS operates a well-maintained motocross track in Southern Alberta, featuring a mix of natural terrain, jumps, and technical sections suitable for riders of all skill levels. Known for its dry, hard-packed soil and sunny climate, the track offers excellent conditions throughout the season. The club hosts regular practice days, local races, and family-friendly events, fostering a strong motocross community in the region.

 

Wildrose MX (Calgary)

 
Wildrose MX Park is Alberta’s premier urban motocross facility, located right in the heart of Calgary. With multiple tracks, including a national-level main track, vet track, junior track, and even a freestyle ramp section, Wildrose offers something for every rider. The park’s well-groomed terrain ranges from loamy dirt to hard-packed sections, making for a diverse and challenging ride. Home to the Wildrose MX Spring and Fall Series, as well as major provincial and national events, this club is a central hub for Alberta’s motocross community.
